Ellie is ten years old and just entered Middle School. She has a wild imagination, an endless curiosity, and a passion for birds. She watches them, listens to them and observes them in all situations : on the streets, at school... and even at the library where she reads about birds to always learn more.

One day, the school librarian lends her a rare ornithology book. Ellie goes back to the library the next day to hand it back as promised, only to find out that the doors are already closed.

Her curiosity leads her to return it in person to the librarian, who actually lives on an island full of birds in the middle of the Loire river off Saumur… it’s the start of an adventure at the heart of nature, and an initiatory trip for Ellie!
