Zealandia Benua Tersembunyi Yang Baru Ditemui

Di dalam Lautan Pasific Selatan (South Pacific Ocean), tersembunyi sebuah benua yang baru ditemui oleh manusia pada beberapa tahun lepas. Para pengkaji telah menjumpai bukti akan wujudnya benua ke-8, atau ke 7 bagi sesetengah kawasan, yang kebanyakan kawasannya masih tenggelam dalam lautan. Benua yang dinamakan sebagai ‘Zealandia’ ini berkeluasan 4.9 juta kilometer persegi iaituh hampir separuh dari Australia.
Hanya 6% permukaan daratan yang timbul dari lautan dan membentuk negara New Zealand, dan pulau kecil-pulau seperti New Caledonia. Kepualauan New Zealand juga dikenali kerana mempunyai flora dan fauna yang unik serta menarik kerana lokasi yang jauh terpencil.
