Berdasarkan kajian yang telah dibuat, jumlah bahasa yang digunakan lebih 7 bilion manusia di dunia adalah sekitar 7102 jenis bahasa. Dari jumlah tersebut, hanya 23 bahasa yang digunakan oleh lebih 50 juta penduduk dunia.
