Rody becomes curious when he discovers that he can’t do or understand many of the things that his friends take for granted. Rody starts questioning things like, “What does ‘hurt’ mean? What is it like to be cold? How does food taste? What does sleeping feel like? What are dreams?” Rody wants to feel and experience the same things his friends do. One day, Rody’s wish comes true. Rody becomes a real boy and experiences all the things he wasn’t able to before. He feels pain and cold, eats delicious foods, swims for the first time and rescues his friend, and even cries his first tears.
