In this episode, a group of young men are caught in the midst of some trouble, where one of them is caught up and hanging from a tall pillar. Ibn Battuta moves through the crowd and saves him, and after that incident was resolved, the young man hosts Ibn Battuta in his home. He tells Ibn Battuta the story of the pillar he was stuck on, and how it was dedicated to one of the Roman emperors. At the end of the episode, Ibn Battuta discovers that the pouch that contained his money had gone missing.
