The merchant agrees with Ibn Battuta on not using weapons, and the merchant sets off to bring another carriage, other than the one that was destroyed, to carry the pearls in it. The King of Marsa Bashk is enraged when he is unable to find the merchant, and his guards decide to take revenge on him.

The pearl merchant arrives at the Sultan’s palace with Ibn Battuta. When they catch the guard who put poison to the Sultan, he informs them of what happened to him and his father and how the Sultan ordered his execution.

Ibn Battuta agrees with the pearl merchant to help him against the villains in exchange for weapons. Ibn Battuta refuses to help him with weapons and offers to get rid of the evil Sultan without resorting to murder.

The guard tells the merchant that he was forced to do everything that the Sultan orders until his father gets out of prison. He agrees with him to claim that he caught him and put him in prison until the Sultan is disposed of without killing him with poison.
